Duke was a much smaller team in '97 compared to Duke teams before and after the '97 team. The second half was a parade of baskets in the paint for Providence. Derrick Brown and Jamel Thomas were in sync and dominated Duke in the paint. Add in a few iso sets for Croshere, dribble penetration by the guards, and it was a winning formula for Providence.

When he was a Freshman at Providence they couldn't play on the real team because of the rules back then but my Dad and his friends would go to everyone of the home freshman games and the place would be packed and when the game was over the fans left instead of watching the regular school team because he was so good
